Focusing on the unique climate and culture of Shiga Prefecture, home to Lake Biwa, Omi Kaiseki cuisine is prepared using only ingredients specially sourced from Shiga Prefecture, including lake delicacies, wild produce, rice field harvests, fermented foods, mountain delicacies, game meat, and Omi beef.Based on the traditions of Japanese cuisine, we strive to create original dishes that cherish the changing seasons, and to find the perfect pairings with tea, local sake, and wine from Omi.

Omi Kaiseki

Aperitif: Daiginjo sake

Appetizer: Minazuki sesame tofu with okra and grated yam.

Junsai (a type of vegetable dish) and raw sea urchin.

Appetizer: Langoustine, Omi beef and duck breast

Pickled celery in sweet and sour sauce, wrapped in bamboo leaves for sushi.

Jellyfish and cucumber salad with white vinegar dressing, green plums, and boiled small fish in oil.

Sweetfish simmered with sansho pepper, simmered new onions, and snap peas.

Simmered dish in a round bowl with grilled green onions and yuzu citrus.
